**TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE**
*Il Bel Paese Linguistics*
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the provision of language instruction and related services by Il Bel Paese Linguistics to the client (learner). By accessing our website, booking services, or participating in any lesson or consultation, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

- Scope of Services
Il Bel Paese Linguistics offers one-on-one Italian language instruction and conversation sessions conducted online via videoconferencing platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet. All lessons and conversation sessions are private and tailored to the individual. Services may include grammar lessons, vocabulary development, conversation practice with native Italian speakers, writing support, reading comprehension, video-based learning, and any other instructional focus necessary for the Student to become proficient in the Italian language.
- Booking and Payment
2.1. All lessons must be scheduled in advance and are subject to availability.
2.2. Full payment is due prior to the commencement of any lesson or lesson package.
2.3. All payments must be made directly on the website at the time of booking. If this is not possible, please contact ilbelpaeselinguistics@gmail.com to arrange alternative payment methods such as Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal. Additional fees may apply depending on the payment platform used.
2.4. All prices are listed in U.S. Dollars unless otherwise indicated.
2.5. Lesson packages are non-transferable and non-refundable unless otherwise stated herein.
- Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
3.1. Lessons canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice will not incur any penalty.
3.2. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged in full and will not be rescheduled or refunded. If a package has been purchased, the missed class will be counted.
3.3. In the event Il Bel Paese Linguistics needs to cancel or reschedule a session, the Student will be offered an alternative time or a full refund for the affected lesson.
- Lesson Packages and Validity
4.1. Prepaid lesson packages are subject to the following validity periods: ten (10) lesson packages must be used within 90 calendar days of purchase; twenty (20) lesson packages must be used within 180 calendar days of purchase, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
4.2. Any unused lessons after the expiration date are forfeited and non-refundable.
4.3. Lessons are subject to instructor availability and may be scheduled flexibly at mutually agreed times.
- Student Conduct and Responsibilities
5.1. The Student shall attend lessons in a timely manner and ensure they are in a distraction-free environment with reliable internet access.
5.2. If a Student arrives more than 15 minutes late, the instructor or speaker reserves the right to consider the session forfeited, unless the Student has communicated in advance about the delay.
5.3. Disruptive, offensive, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of services without refund.
- Technology Requirements
6.1. It is the Student’s responsibility to ensure they have the necessary technology (e.g., device, internet access, webcam) for online lessons.
6.2. Il Bel Paese Linguistics shall not be held liable for any loss of service due to technical difficulties on the Student’s side.
- Privacy and Confidentiality
7.1. All personal data collected will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and will not be disclosed to third parties without consent.
7.2. Lessons may be recorded only with prior written or verbal consent from all participants.
7.3. The Student agrees to maintain the confidentiality of all proprietary lesson materials provided.
- Intellectual Property
8.1. All lesson plans, exercises, presentations, and supplementary materials are the intellectual property of Il Bel Paese Linguistics and may not be copied, shared, or distributed without express written consent.
8.2. Materials are provided exclusively for personal, educational use.
- Minors
9.1. Students under the age of 18 must have the written consent of a parent or legal guardian to enroll.
9.2. The parent or guardian may be required to communicate with Il Bel Paese Linguistics prior to the first lesson.
- Limitation of Liability
10.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Il Bel Paese Linguistics disclaims all liability for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use our services.
10.2. Our maximum liability to the Student for any claim shall not exceed the total amount paid by the Student for services in the previous thirty (30) days.
- Amendments
Il Bel Paese Linguistics reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services following any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
- Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

- Gift Certificates and Promotions
14.1. Gift Certificates issued by Il Bel Paese Linguistics are non-refundable and must be redeemed within 3 months of the date of issue, unless otherwise stated. Gift certificates may not be exchanged for cash or transferred to other students without prior written approval.
14.2. Promotional Discounts and Codes may be offered periodically and are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Promotional codes must be applied at the time of booking and may not be combined with other offers unless expressly stated.
- Conversation Partners / Native Speakers
15.1. Role of Conversation Partners: Il Bel Paese Linguistics offers conversation sessions conducted by native Italian speakers (“Speakers”) for the purpose of enhancing students’ fluency, listening comprehension, and cultural awareness. These sessions are designed for informal practice and are not structured grammar lessons.
15.2. Speaker Qualifications: All Speakers are vetted by Il Bel Paese Linguistics for language proficiency and professionalism. However, they are not required to hold formal teaching certifications unless otherwise stated. Their primary role is to facilitate natural conversation in Italian.
15.3. Substitutions and Availability: Il Bel Paese Linguistics reserves the right to assign or substitute Speakers based on availability. We do not guarantee a specific Speaker for each session unless confirmed in writing.
15.4. Conduct and Safety: Students and Speakers are expected to maintain respectful and appropriate communication during all sessions. Any reports of misconduct by either party will result in the immediate suspension of the session and may lead to termination of service.
15.5. Session Recording and Confidentiality: Conversation sessions with Speakers may not be recorded by either party without prior written consent. All discussions are considered private and should not be shared outside the session unless both parties agree.
15.6. Liability Waiver: Il Bel Paese Linguistics is not responsible for the personal opinions, comments, or conversational content shared by Speakers during sessions. The company disclaims liability for any issues arising from the interaction, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct on our part.
